Eye of the Storm Afghan CAL is really taking shape! Week 10 gives us a total of 20 finished squares!

This week I fell a bit behind with traveling and a family day, so we are a couple days late. But, that is what is so great about crochet and a crochet along! It is supposed to be relaxing and fun…
Above are this weeks 2 squares and as usual, the random yarn color drawing has once again made me so happy with the fun colors for these 2 squares!
News Flash!!!!!
The typical Eye of the Storm Square should measure 12″, However, I used a larger hook when I started so mine are 14. At the end of the 20 squares, laid out 4×5 squares… My squares laid out already measured 69″ long and since I still have the joining and border, I have decided to stop at 20 squares. I think when done, it will measure just over 74″ long which is what I want.
We will continue with the schedule and final post for the Grand Prize, This gives everyone time to join and complete still and/or catch up!
I hope if you aren’t making this crochet along, you are following along… You will find the schedule and details below if you want to get started… So easy to keep up each week… Just 1 or 2 squares a week depending on the size afghan you want!
You can make this afghan at any time… Use your scrap yarn or plan you colors!
If you are seeing The Eye of the Storm CALfor the first time… This is a Crochet Along that goes for a total of 15 weeks… You can choose how many squares you want to make and the size of your project… You will make 1 or 2 squares per week depending on what you choose. I am making the large afghan with 20 squares… 4 across x 5 down. Each square is 12″ x 12″, and mine are 14″, so my approximate size will be 56″ x 74″ with the joining and border.
Each week I randomly draw 6 of the 12 colors for each square, making them all different!
Below are my 20 Eye of the storm squares for the first 10 weeks!….

I’m not quite sure of my final layout yet… I may place them in the order I made them or move them all around!
Here is a brief bit of info about this Crochet Along ~
Each block is approximately 12″ x 12″. Then there is joining allowance and the border. The border will be approximately 6 total inches and joining is just a couple of extra inches.

Above are this weeks squares and the yarn I used… Love this week!

I have chosen to make mine in the whimsical chaos style! What is that? I purchased yarn kits with 12 colors of Red Heart Super Saver that all go together on Amazon. I made a small card for each color(see my pics) and for each square I am randomly drawing 6 cards. I make the square in the order of how I pulled the card for A, B, C, D, E and F colors.
I purchased this yarn kit(4 of them) from Amazon for my CAL Afghan… Click here if you want to see this yarn on Amazon
