Week 3 Instructions

Handles~ Make 2

For each handle, Cut 22 lengths of yarn at 36″ each.

Tie a simple knot at one end only, approximately 3″ from end.

Holding yarn bunch with the knotted end to our right, Join yarn with a sl st around the yarn bunch just to the left of the knot. Secure by tightening the slip knot. With a Slightly Snug Tension, sc 85 sts around all of the strands working down the handle. The stitches will slightly spiral as you work down the yarn bunch, this is good! You can evenly push the stitches together as you work down the handle.  Finish off  leaving 4″ tail

Watch the Live Facebook Video Demonstration  Click Here to head to the Beatrice Ryan Designs CAL Group to watch the video

Tie knot at the end approximately 3″ away from end. The last st of the sc should be at the end, I included the tail remaining 4″ tail in the knot to secure.

Ok.. That is the handle!!

The Bag Closure

With sl st, join yarn to backside of bag on inside center at the top of the bag. Chain approx. 10 sts and join with sl st right next to the join. Your chains can vary depending on the size of the button you choose. Finish off

Sew Button on frontside of bag on the outside center at the top of the bag, directly across from closure loop.

Blocking Your Bag

Completely moisten your project and stretch over the plastic rectangular container (approx. 15″ x 13″ x 4″) to shape. Let this dry completely. It may take a day or two.

Remove the bag off of the  container

Placement of Handles

Sew handles in place.  Using photo the above photo as your guide, sew one handle to the front of the bag. One end will be sewn on the right front corner and the other on the left front corner with the knot placed directly above the post stitch between the front and side of bag between rows 22-24 of sc stitches.. This is the corner of the bag.

Repeat on the back of the bag with the second handle.

That’s it!!!  You have completed your Simply August Boho Bag CAL..

I am so excited to see all of your bags!!!

If you just found this post… you can still  make this bag by heading to the Crochet with me, CAL tab at the top of the page for all the instructions.  In a couple of weeks, the pattern will be posted in full on the website and also available in PDF form for $2. Stay tuned for that!!

Happy Crocheting!!
