Crochet With Me!! Winter 2016 Crochet-A-Long… Week 4

It’s Week 4 and our Crochet with Me!! Crochet Along is coming along fabulously!!!  I am so excited to see all of the afghans being shown off on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Ravelry!!

Crochet with Me 2016 Week 4

A couple of notes from last week… All the textural stitches should be on one side, which is the right side.  If some of the rows seem to be a bit narrower that others, we will be blocking our project and putting a nice edging on at the end.. This should take care of squaring up the afghan unless it is off by a large amount.  Just make sure you are checking your  stitch count!!

So,, If you are ready, let’s get started with Week 4!!

  1. Question: on section 4 why are my stripes between the b&c showing on the back side of my work? I followed the instructions and it looks like a couple others have had the same result. Is there a way to fix it? Am I supposed to be doing the ch5 lengths when I work on the front or the back of the blanket. I’m so confused!

This seems to come from the work being slightly tight… but when we are done we will be blocking the project which will help the stitches relax… It may be also the way you are wrapping the chain.. during the next section of this push the chain slightly to the front of the project when crocheting

  2. I am a little behind and just completed week one this morning. I was wondering if you can explain a little about how you change colors before beginning a new row. Do you leave tails and weave them in and how, do you tie anything, do you just pull the new color on to the hook and does that count as a single crochet??? Love this project so far! Thank you for doing it!

It is all up to your preference… you can work over as you to or weave them in when done… you can finish off the row completely and start with the new color or pull the color through the last part of the sc of the previous row… the yarn will count just as if you are continuing your work …
