2019 Crochet with Me!! Mystery Afghan CAL… Week 3
Week 3 of the 2019 Crochet with Me!! Mystery Afghan Crochet Along brings us 1/4 if the way through the project. This fun and whimsical mystery afghan is really starting to take shape.. So here is the skinny on this project.. It is 12 weeks of crocheting, each weeks link is posted for safe keeping in the Crochet with Me!! tab at the top of the page… You start with the Material List .. Let’s get started…
This weeks stitches:
Ch – Chain
St – Stitch
Sk – Skip
Sl St – Slip Stitch
Sc – Single Crochet
Blsc – Back Loop Single Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet
Trc – Treble Crochet
Size at end of Week 3~
23 1/2″ x 34″ smoothed flat
We will be working on the right side for every round this week
Join Color A in Righthand Corner Stitch on long side.
Round 20: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, {ch 1, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, *ch 1, sk 3 sts, 3 dc in next st*, repeat *to* 19 more times, 4 more dc in same st(this makes 7 in the corner), ch 1, sk 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, repeat *to* 12 times, sk 1 sts}, ch 1, 7 dc in next st, repeat {to} 1 time, ch 1, 4 dc in same st as beginning. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. = 66 – 3dc’s, 4- 7dc’s & 70 ch 1 sps (total 296 sts) *orange color denotes a correction in original post(originally said sk 2)*
Finish off
Join Color B in Righthand corner st of the long end
Round 21: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, dc in the next 3 sts, (dc in next ch 1 sp, trc in the 1st sk st of round 19(see pic below), dc in the same ch 1 sp), *ch 1, (dc in the next ch 1 sp, trc in the 2nd sk st of round 19(see pic below), dc in the same ch 1 sp)*, repeat *to* 19 more times, dc in the next 3 sts, 3 dc in the next st, dc in the next 3 sts, (dc in the next ch 1 sp, trc in the 1st sk st of round 19, dc in the same ch 1 sp, repeat *to* 12 times, ch 1, (dc in the next ch 1 sp, trc in the sk st of round 19, dc in the same ch 1 sp), dc in the next 3 sts, 3 dc in the next st, dc in the next 3 sts, (dc in the next ch 1 sp, trc in the 1st sk st of round 19, dc in the same ch 1 sp), repeat *to* 20 times, dc in the next 3 sts, 3 dc in the next st, dc in the next 3 sts, (dc in the next ch 1 sp, trc in the 1st sk st from round 19, dc in the same ch 1 sp), repeat *to* 12 times, ch 1, (dc in the next ch 1 sp, trc in the sk st of round 19, dc in the same ch 1 sp), dc in the last 3 sts, join with sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. = 176 dc, 70 trc & 66 ch 1 sps (total 312 sts) *Orange color denotes a correction from original post(originally said 2nd sk st)*
Finish off
Join Color C in middle st of corner on the same corner you finished off.
Round 22: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, dc in next 4 sts, *ch 1, sk 3 sts (dc in next ch 1 sp, trc in the middle st of 3dc group of round 20, dc in the same ch 1 sp)(see pic below)*, repeat *to* 19 more times, ch 1, sk 3 sts, dc in next 4 sts, 3 dc in the next st, dc in the next 4 sts, repeat *to* 13 times, ch 1, sk 3 sts, dc in next 4 sts, 3 dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, repeat *to* 20 times, ch 1, sk 3 sts, dc in next 4 sts, 3 dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts, repeat *to* 13 times, ch 1, sk 3 sts, dc in last 4 sts, join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 176 dc, 66 trc & 70 ch 1 sps (total 312 sts, yes, this is the same count as round 21)*Orange section added after original post to correct

Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 258 dc & 70 trc (328 total sts)
Round 24: Ch 1, blsc in st, 3 blsc in next st, blsc in next 95 sts, 3 blsc in next st, blsc in next 67 sts, 3 blsc in next st, blsc in next 95 sts, 3 blsc in next st, blsc in next 66 sts, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 336 blsc.
