  1. I love this Angel Wings Shawl pattern and hope to crochet it soon. On Red Heart website it is noted to be a #2 fine yarn rather than a #1 super fine yarn. Love the patterns you post. Have crocheted several.

  2. How can I get a ad free copy of this beautiful free pattern? Please advise. Thanks.

  3. Can you tell me what ply this is made in as I live in Australia also what size hook is J

  4. This Angel Wing shawl is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it.

  5. I don’t understand using #2 yarn with a size J hook. Is the yarn doubled? Seems like that would be way too big. Can someone help me with this? TIA

  6. I don’t know what happened to my other comment but I finally had to give up on making this beautiful shawl. Just couldn’t seem to get the stitch counts. Ex was row 10 where there are supposed to be 22 of the little clusters and actually in total there were 24 if you didn’t count the ones in the ch 2 sp at the botton. And in row 15 it seemed as though there was a cluster missing toward the end of the row. The Amazing Grace patterns are so beutiful I REALLY would like to be able to make them for people I know who have cancer or are going thru some other stressors in their lives.I am an experienced crocheter so can’t imagine why I can’t get this but I spent 4 while days working on it without success. Finally gave up and pulled the whole thing out.

I’d love to hear if anyone else had problems and how they solved them. I’ve never given up on a project before. I’m stubborn 🙂

    • I am having trouble on row 10 with the count. I am going to keep going see how it turns out. I have started over 4 times so far and not going to do it again. I will just move on using my counts.

      • Beatrice Ryan Designs

If round 9 was correct.. all you are doing in 10 is putting 3 dc in the 4 corner stitches and 1 sc in all the rest

  7. Ruth: I’m having problems with this also. I can’t get row 6 to work out. After 2 days I gave up.

  8. Beatrice please tell did you just finish one skein of yarn and start the other or did you control the colour as you worked. Love the way it has come out.
    Kind regards
    Theresa

  9. I’m having problems too. I have problems with counts. I have problems with “ch3, turn, 2 dc in same st” and the ch1, turn 3 sc in 1st”…. no where does 1st tell me if it is 1st st. It’s not listed in the stitches chart. Where on the ch3 do I put the 2 dc? It is such a beautiful shawl and I want to make it right so badly. TIA for any help you can provide.

    • Beatrice Ryan Designs

So the ch 3 is a dc on the beginning of any row.. and you put 2 more in the same st as you did the ch 3 after you turn not in the ch 3.. so that will be 3 in the very 1st st of the row.

      • so at the base of the chain, right?
In my comment above I see that it was 2018 that I tried to make this. I have to try again.

  10. Thanks!! That and all the other questions & comments sure do help! I was “up” to working on the edgeing and started ripping back and rolling balls. I know mistakes aren’t horrible once the shawl is done, but *I* keep seeing them and that was enough for me. LOL! I am using heavier yarn than the pattern calls and I am determined to redo until I get it right.

  11. I am wanting to make this for a friend of my daughters that is going thru a really tough patch. She is a bigger girl – how/where do I increase to make it wider. Thanks! And hope mine will come out as beautiful as yours – just using different colors. Also, I saw that you mentioned you had put up a picture tutorial. I’m not seeing it, but will keep looking. If you have the link, please share.

  12. My count comes out correctly thru Row 18. After making the ch 2 and 2 hdc’s in the same stitch on Row 19, it says to hdc in the next 73 stitches, but there is 72. If I kept on going on and finished the whole row, I would have only 152 hdc’s instead of 154. Where am I going wrong? Could I do a 2hdc, ch2, 2hdc to make up that deficit?

Thank you for any help you can send me.
