Living in a mountain community is so beautiful… We have 4 seasons and lots of colors and wonderful areas to hike…  This cute baby blanket reminded me of the fascinating colors of our clear streams near my home…  Using Red Heart’s new self-striping yarn called Red Heart Stripes in Cool Stripes gave this the perfect effect!!

Materials:

Yarn: Approximately 1000 yards total worsted weight yarn. I used 3 skeins of Super Saver Stripes in Cool Stipes(236 yds ea), 150 yard of Red Heart Super Saver in White and 100 yards of Red Heart Super Saver in Blue Hawaii

Or how cute would this blanket be in Red Heart Stripes…. Neon????

Crochet with Me!! Winter 2017 CAL… Week 10!!

Crochet with Me!! Winter 2017 CAL… Week 10!!

Crochet with Me!! Winter 2017 CAL… Week 10!

I’m so excited to be on week 10!! My project looks like a real afghan already and the last 3 weeks will just add more fun to this colorful afghan!

This week’s assignment is easy.. We are going back to the Granny stitch… I think this was one of the easiest stitching styles we did during this years Mystery Afghan project!!  The last 2 weeks we will be prepping and doing the border… So, this week I decided to take it easy and go back to some auto pilot crochet!!

Lets get started!!

Join Color D in top right ch3 corner space

Round 73:  Ch 3, 2 more dc in same sp, {sk next ch 3 sp, *3dc in next 2 ch 3 sps, sk next ch 3 sp*, Repeat *to* 25 more times,(3dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch 3 corner sp, sk st, Repeat *to* 17 times, 3 dc in next 3 ch3 sps, sk st, repeat *to* 17 times,} (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) in next corner ch 3 sp, repeat {to} one time, 3 dc in last corner, ch 1, join with sl st to top of ch 3. = 254 3dc shells

Join Color E in top right corner

Round 74:  Ch 3, (2 dc, ch1, 3 dc) in same sp, {*sk 3 sts, 3 dc between next group of sts*, repeat *to* across , (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) in corner sp}, repeat {to} around, join with sl st to beginning ch 3. = 258 3dc shells

Join Color F in top right corner

Round 75:  Ch 3, (2 dc, ch1, 3 dc) in same sp, {*sk 3 sts, 3 dc between next group of sts*, repeat *to* across , (3dc, ch 1, 3dc) in corner sp}, repeat {to} around, join with sl st to beginning ch 3. = 262 3dc shells

You will notice that this weeks edges are a bit wavy… No Worries!!  Edging and Blocking to come so this will shape up the finished project!!

That’s it… Week 10 is now complete!!!  Make sure to share your pics in our CAL Group!!  And don’t forget .. in just a couple of weeks for those of you who complete your afghans in the designated time… We will be having a fabulous giveaway sponsored by Red Heart Yarns!!!

Happy Crocheting!!
