COLOR!!! Knit & Crochet Blog Week Day 4… 4KCBWDAY4

I can’t believe it’s already day 4 of this Knit & Crochet Blog Week Celebration!  Today’s assignment is to show and talk about our favorite colors to work with and what colors are in our stash…

I Love Color!  I have so much fun mixing new color ideas in each project… One of my favorite things is to use random colors,,, not trying to match or coordinate… The projects I do this way almost always turn out to be my favorite ones…

Last night I did get done all of my Crochet Goals for the day… I worked on the Ocean Waves Afghan Challenge Blanket… Made a set of Colorful Flower Coasters (see the bottom of this post for a little surprise!), And… I made my first 2 squares for Sarah London’s Crochet-A-Long,,, 2013 Wool-Eaters Motif Blanket… I was one busy Bee!!!!  We also had a fabulous Bible Study,,, Such great ladies in my group!

I do lean towards vibrant colors in my projects,,, But Cream is my favorite base color… like in my Sunburst Granny Square Blanket…

My Stash is a completely different story… It has everything.. I try to pick yarn up when it’s on sale… So when I see something that’s a good deal, I grab it!  I love working with all types of yarns, but my main stash is Acrylic Yarn and Cotton Yarn… The yarn is available in so many great colors now! Love our choices we have to choose from!

.

This House of Bee’s is going to have to work hard once again today… After work I have to work on both The Challenge Afghan and the Crochet-A-Long… Also,,, I will be working on some project to sell and… Here is my little SURPRISE I promised at the top of the post…

…In the next few days I will post another FREE PATTERN… The Flower Coasters Set Pattern will be available right here at Beatrice Ryan Designs and on my Ravelry Page…

So Here is to Color, Yarn and A New Free Pattern!

Hobo Granny….

.

If I don’t have a hook in my hand and yarn trailing across the chair,,, something is definitely wrong!  The calming sense of the soft fiber and beautiful colors bring joy to my evenings and weekends…  Counting stitches, rows and inches almost seems to ease the worlds worries away!

.

Last night I finished up this beautiful Hobo Granny Bag!     22 Granny Squares joined into this Hobo Style Bag… Maze, Gray, Aqua and Plum yarn  make this bag work for any season… Once it was done, I tried it on for size… I so wanted to keep it!  But like you know if you hang out here very much,,, almost everything is given away to a loved one or sold at Alpine Originals…This lovely bag will be delivered later today for some lucky bag collector to purchase!

A Beautiful Granny Bag…  It was time for something new!…  With all the baby items I made for Alpine Originals last month… And working on my own Sunburst Granny Square Blanket… I was so excited to create something new and different!  I love bags and purses!  A couple of weeks ago I posted my Market Bags that were made for the shop and this beautiful bag will be making its way to Alpine Originals as well.

This purse is made using 13 Granny Squares with the joining method I found at Attic 24, I love all the great info she give us crocheters!  I used Caron Pounder in cream as my yarn choice, Bamboo Handle and not showing,,,, A satin liner in Cheetah Print… Super Cute!

.

I have seen tons of Granny Square Bags all over crochet sites lately and was very inspired!  I want to make some colorful ones, large ones and small ones, tons of them… This was really a fun project!! Stay tuned to see what bags come next… And,,, Another Free Pattern is in the works!
