Choosing your colors!!!

I recently came across a fun and unique way to help chose my yarn colors… Usually I head to the yarn store and am drawn to certain colors, but I wanted to start thinking outside of my usual box!

I found The Color Cube!!! It is a fun box of cards with color themes, Sarah uses some of here favorite photos to show us color schemes. Just pull one out, find matching yarn colors and you are set!

Life of a Crochet Addict… Week 3!

Life of a Crochet Addict… Week 3!

Welcome back to Life of a Crochet Addict! This is week 3, although it has been a couple of weeks since I have shared… LOL!

Also, if you would like to receive my posts by email, add your email to my list in the Stay Connected box in the top of righthand sidebar(the picture below is what you will see) >>>>>>>>>>>.

See this box in the righthand sidebar to join!!!!!

Lots to share and I hope you will enjoy this weeks post! So, to kick it off, I’ll start with the last couple of weeks of crochet!

If you haven’t seen my latest crochet pattern, I released Summertime Striped Shawl! It is a free crochet pattern or you can purchase a paid PDF… Click here for that pattern!

I also started a new poncho pattern, hopefully I will have it available in the next couple of weeks!

I even spent a little time crocheting at Mr. B’s!

I’m still working on this granny square blanket and hopefully have the pattern out by early October!

Of course I have a few other Wip’s hanging around. So with the cooler Fall weather, hopefully I will get some of those finished up! Do you have several Wip’s hanging around???

Now on to some of what my last 2 weeks were filled with!…

This summer has been so much fun! My garden has been producing so many fruits, veggies and flowers! Also, tons of lake time with Mr B! For Labor Day I had a family bbq and lots of time to sit and enjoy it all!

Lake vibe with Mr B

Mr B was feeding the fish Cheetos, he took this pick with the phone under water!

Stayed out until after dark at Whiskeytown Lake!

We played around with our cameras floating on the lake… Caught the Milkyway!

All of the produce was amazing out of my garden, I think my favorite so far were the cantaloups! But, you may wonder what I do with all this food??? I eat as much fresh as I can… I can some into jars and freeze dry the rest!

Roasted Tomatillo’s, Onion’s and Jalapeño’s to make a verde sauce! I was able to freeze dry all the sauce and used some the other day… It was delish!

I made homemade cream of mushroom soup and put it in the freeze dryer. This also turned out delicious!

I made marinara sauce with all my tomatoes… After freeze drying the 40 tomatoes fit into 2 quart jars! Each quart should make approximately 2 quarts once rehydrated. But what I love about freeze drying is I can just take out of the jar what ever amount I want to use and add water and it is ready. I could make a huge spaghetti dinner or just a single serving for myself!

This is 5 trays of freeze dried items, 3 trays are the tomatoes that I turned into marinera powder, then 2 trays of squash!

I picked my rhubarb and strawberries and made jam! Pineapple/Strawberry/Rhubarb, Strawberry/Rhubarb and Pineapple/Rhubarb/Jalapeño… And yep, if you noticed one jar has a label saying Chicken Pot Pie Soup… I just put a new label on all the jars after they cooled..

Who doesn’t love flowers… this year I have had amazing bouquets from my garden!

Home and health wellness

This week I would love to share a warm, cozy addition to my pantry… Lono Life Broth! The chicken is my favorite, but they have tons of flavors. Each box contains individual packets, all you do is mix one packet with 8 oz of hot water and you have a delicious broth to drink or add to you favorite foods. I drink it often, it has 10 grams of protein and only 50 calories per serving(8oz), however I also add it to my soup as the base, or other meals to add great flavor1

You can get this on Amazon… I have mine as a set delivery subscription so I never run out, but you can buy 1 box at a time…! Click here to head to Amazon to get yours!

This upcoming week I will be doing more food preserving, headed to Mr B’s again for more end of season lake time, then finishing off at my dearest friend Rebecca’s Spa Anniversary Party! And, of course trying to finish a couple more Wip’s!!!

I hope you have a blessed week and get to crochet something wonderful!
