Crazy Good Mat Pattern Test….

.

A few days ago, I mentioned I was testing a pattern for one of my favorite Crochet Websites… Felted Button.  The pattern is called Crazy Good Mat!  It is a super cute project and I was so excited to work on this mat!  I made a smaller version of the original pattern… The original pattern will be the size of an average mat… The one I made is 12″ x 12″… I am going to use it for a seat cover for my antique children’s rocking chair… My Grand Children will love it!

.

Here are a few photos of the finished test project… I will definitely be making a full size mat soon!  Make sure to watch her website for the release of the pattern!

COLOR!!! Knit & Crochet Blog Week Day 4… 4KCBWDAY4

I can’t believe it’s already day 4 of this Knit & Crochet Blog Week Celebration!  Today’s assignment is to show and talk about our favorite colors to work with and what colors are in our stash…

I Love Color!  I have so much fun mixing new color ideas in each project… One of my favorite things is to use random colors,,, not trying to match or coordinate… The projects I do this way almost always turn out to be my favorite ones…

Last night I did get done all of my Crochet Goals for the day… I worked on the Ocean Waves Afghan Challenge Blanket… Made a set of Colorful Flower Coasters (see the bottom of this post for a little surprise!), And… I made my first 2 squares for Sarah London’s Crochet-A-Long,,, 2013 Wool-Eaters Motif Blanket… I was one busy Bee!!!!  We also had a fabulous Bible Study,,, Such great ladies in my group!

I do lean towards vibrant colors in my projects,,, But Cream is my favorite base color… like in my Sunburst Granny Square Blanket…

My Stash is a completely different story… It has everything.. I try to pick yarn up when it’s on sale… So when I see something that’s a good deal, I grab it!  I love working with all types of yarns, but my main stash is Acrylic Yarn and Cotton Yarn… The yarn is available in so many great colors now! Love our choices we have to choose from!

.

This House of Bee’s is going to have to work hard once again today… After work I have to work on both The Challenge Afghan and the Crochet-A-Long… Also,,, I will be working on some project to sell and… Here is my little SURPRISE I promised at the top of the post…

…In the next few days I will post another FREE PATTERN… The Flower Coasters Set Pattern will be available right here at Beatrice Ryan Designs and on my Ravelry Page…

Day 2 Knit and Crochet Blog Week… House of Bee’s! 4KCBWDAY2

.

The House of Bee’s: Bee’s are busy and industrious, but can flit from one interesting project to the next as bright and shiny things capture their interest.

Today’s  Blog Week assignment is to write something about my chosen House Mascot… Bee’s…  Well, They are a lovely creature, but I wouldn’t want one to land on me… I do enjoy watching them on all the flowers in my yard each summer though…  They are such hard workers..

So,, When it came time to think of something to do with Bee’s and Crochet… The perfect short, colorful project came to mind… Like you know if you follow my blog,,, I make many projects to sell at the little shop here in my home town… Alpine Originals… So for the last couple of weeks I have been constantly thinking what I would be placing in the shop for this spring and summer…  So last night I whipped up a cute little set of Flower Coasters… Super Cute… Don’t you think?

If you are wondering what these cute little Flower Coasters have to do with The House of Bee’s… Here is my little list of thoughts…

*Easy to finish quickly… So I can”Flit” to the next project

*Interesting… Flowers as Coasters…Yes… That is an interesting idea!

*Shiny and Bright… The colors and flower shape “Capture” the Bee’s attention…

**Conclusion,,, Quick and Easy to finish, Interesting and Bee’s Love Flowers!!!!

.

There you go… My Mascot Post…Whew!

And,,, To keep you updated on my other projects,,, Since I like to Flit from one to another… Here is my progress on my current Crochet-A-Long... Ocean Waves Afghan Challenge by The Crochet Crowd
