Amazing Grace Crochet Charity Drive… Week 8 Featured Pattern!!

The Amazing Grace Charity Drive is getting close to the finale!!! If you want to participate and pay it forward to those in need, all items must be received at Beatrice Ryan Designs by Friday October 31st to be eligible for the Prize Package drawing… I have received tons of boxes and packages already full of wonderful crochet items… I am so excited to see the Grand Total of our donation to Crochet For Cancer!!! We are really making a difference!! Each hat, blanket, shawl and hand-made item is a treasure that will bless someone who is suffering or recovering from cancer.

I am working on 2 more Amazing Grace Free Pattern Designs and can’t wait to share them with you over the next couple weeks… They are brand new designs… One small project and one larger project!! So make sure you stay tuned for more Free Patterns!!!

Amazing Grace Crochet Charity Drive… Week 6 Featured Pattern!

Only a couple more weeks to finish off our charity drive!! I have received many great donations already,,, And hope to see more packages rolling in before the deadline of October 31st… Once all the packages have been received,,, I will be delivering them all to Crochet for Cancer! With the Winter months upon us, there will be a large need for soft, cozy hats for those who are suffering and recovering from cancer… And now is the time you can make a difference!!

You also can be eligible for the Fantastic Prize Package by getting your donation in by the deadline!! Even 1 hat makes a difference, So please consider paying it forward by using a free crochet pattern and making a hat, scarf, cowl or any great item you think would help someone stay warm and give them some comfort during their time of need!!

When I designed this Free Pattern, I was picturing this bag to be given to a patient for their chemo appointments… They could fill it with a light weight blanket, book, crocheting or any items they need to help them pass the time while receiving their treatment. It is a fun and simple project and could brighten the day of someone suffering or recovering from cancer!!

Yes I do!! I love yarn and today we are celebrating it!! I am going to start my next Amazing Grace Design… This pattern I will be starting today will be for the Grand Finale of the Charity Drive!! Amazing Grace Infinity Scarf

The Amazing Grace Infinity Scarf is the 11th free pattern in the Amazing Grace Series!! This is a versatile pattern that can be worn in may ways! You can be warm and cozy while still being fashionable!!

Keeping in the style of the Amazing Grace Stitch Pattern… This infinity scarf pattern is the same great style, with a fashionable multi purpose effect! The Amazing Grace Free Crochet Pattern Series is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness and my dearest friend Sandra Kay Gilb who passed away in 2007 from this unfortunate disease. Please consider paying it forward to those who are suffering or recovering from cancer by donating items made from my free patterns…

Amazing Grace Infinity Scarf

Materials

Yarn ~ 250-300 yards Worsted Weight Yarn in an ombre color pallet… I used(Cascade Yarns Pacific Color Waves #315, 1.5 balls) but Red Heart Super Saver Ombre in Hot Sauce would be perfect too and you would only need 1 skein (482 yds per skein)

Hook ~ K

Scissors and Yarn Needle

Stitches

St – Stitch Sl St – Slip Stitch Sp – Space Sk – Skip Ch – Chain Sc – Single Crochet Dc – Double Crochet Rev Sc -Reverse Single Crochet

Instructions

Ch 150

Join to the beginning with a Sl St… Being very careful not to twist the chain!

You will be working in the round

Row 1: Ch 1, Sc in each St around. Join with Sl St to beginning Sc. = 150 Sc

Row 2: Ch 1, Sc in the 1st St, Ch 2, Sc in the same St, Sk 2 Sts, *(Sc,Ch2, Sc) All in the next St, Sk 2 Sts*. Repeat * * Around. Join with Sl St to beginning Sc. = 50 Ch 2 Sps

Row 3: Sl St in next Ch 2 Sp, Ch 3(Counts as 1st Dc now and throughout), 2 Dc in same Ch 2 Sp as beginning Ch 3, *3 Dc in next Ch 2 Sp*. Repeat * * Around. Join with Sl St to the top of beginning Ch 3. = 50 3Dc Clusters

Row 4: Sl St in next St (Center Dc of previous row 3Dc cluster), Ch 1, (Sc,Ch2,Sc) all in the same St, Sk 2 Sts, * (Sc,Ch2,Sc) in next St, Sk 2 Sts*. Repeat * * Around. Join with Sl St to beginning Sc. = 50 Ch 2 Sps

Rows 5-14: Repeat Rows 3 & 4 five more times

Row 15: Repeat Row 3 one more time

Top Edging:

Ch 1, Rev Sc Around, Join to beginning. Finish Off. = 150 Rev Sc

Bottom Edging:

Join with Sl St to any stitch on the bottom edge. Ch 1, Rev Sc Around. Join to beginning. Finish Off. = 150 Rev Sc

Weave ends in.
