2018 Crochet with Me!! Mystery Afghan CAL… Week 12 Finale!!

Here we are… The last week of our 2018 Crochet with Me!! Mystery Afghan Crochet Along!! The last 12 weeks have been so fantastic and fun putting this textual afghan together.  Lots of great crochet stitches were used and our favorite yarns will show off our finished projects beautifully!

Above is my finished project… I am in love with it!!  The edging is super simple and if you prefer, you can leave the edging off or make another…  Make sure to post in the Beatrice Ryan Designs CAL Group to show off your work!!

Ok.. Let’s get started on Week 12!!

We will be adding Hdc – Half Double Crochet  and Rev Sc – Reverse Single Crochet to this weeks pattern!

Border:

Continuing using the yarn from row 165.

Row 1: You will be working down the side rows. 2 sc in the same st as the the last st in row 165, this makes the 1st corner. sc 244 sts evenly down the side rows of the blanket, 3 sc in the 1st st of row 1(2nd corner made), finish off.  Join yarn to the last stitch of row 1 on the opposite end, ch 1, 3sc in same st (3rd corner made), sc 244 sts evenly up the side rows of the blanket, 3 sc in the 1st st of row 165(4th corner made), join to next st with sl st.

Row 2:  Ch 2 (counts as hdc), Hdc in next 185 sts, 3 hdc in next st(corner made), hdc in the next 246 sts, 3 hdc in next st(corner made), hdc in next 187, 3 hdc in next st(corner made), hdc in next 246 sts, 3 hdc in next st(corner made), hdc in next st, join to top of beginning ch 2. =869 hdc If you are off a couple of stitches due to slight errors.. no worries.. it will all work.

Row 3:  Ch 1, rev sc around(you do not need to do 3 in each corner). = 869 rev sc

Finish off and weave in any ends.

Block your afghan for best results by wet method or carefully use the steam method.

Finished Approximate Size can be different for each person. Mine measured 72″ x 78″ flat.

That’s it.. you now have your 2018 Crochet with Me… Mystery Afghan CAL finished…!!!  Congratulations…

Week 11.. I can’t believe we are so close to nearing the end of our CAL!!  This week we are finishing up the base… Next week is a simple edging!!

I am so happy with mine.. it is surely one of my favorite crochet treasures… I hope you feel the same!!

Week 10.. This has truly flown by!!  I am so happy with mine and I hope your love yours too!!

I have made notes on each previous week and in the Beatrice Ryan Designs CAL Group that I have upped the amount of yarn to 3400-3600 yards… Depending on how your tension is, you will most likely need more than the original estimate of 3000 yards.
