Welcome to the 9th Annual Crochet with Me… Winter Mystery Afghan Crochet Along!!

Please join me once again over the next several weeks to make yourself a beautiful, whimsical afghan… If this is your first time, you can click on the Crochet with Me tab at the top of the page and see all of the past CAL’s. This year will be easy, simple and fun…

This year we will be doing a Mile A Minute Style Afghan.… It is designed to have a very Spring/Summer feel! You can use the exact yarn I am using, choose specific colors or do a stashbuster… Below you will find my recommendations on yarn choice!

This CAL will be a 10 week project(not including the material list or finale post). Each week I will post a section for you to complete. If you start late or miss a week, you will find all of the posts in the Crochet with Me Tab at the top of the website… This week I have posted the CAL info, material list and all the fun ways you can participate… So let’s check it out!

Easy to join… All you need to do is come back here each Sunday afternoon for the weekly post… If you would like to get post reminders.. You can enter your email in the Stay Connected section in the right sidebar and receive each post by email.

Another great way to join the fun is to hop over to Facebook and join my Beatrice Ryan Designs CAL group… This group is dedicated to my CAL’s only… We post pics, help each other, and each week I post the new links in the group… For this CAL, there will be weekly prizes exclusive to the group members(details below)..

**Don’t forget to add this project to your Ravelry Favorite!!! Click Here**

**This is another traditional afghan, easy stitching, great take along project! It will have flower motif’s, granny square style stitching and other various techniques.

Size:

This will be a rectangular afghan approx. 50″ x 65″ (size may vary with yarn type and personal tension)

Material List:

Yarn 3000-3500 yds total of worsted weight yarn for this project – I am using both Self Striping Yarn and Solid Yarn. Below I give my yarn suggestions.

My color choices (total amounts and actual yarn info below) – Center of Mile a Minute Motif’s- You will need at least 2 colors. I am using White, Orange, Pink and Yellow for my center. For the outer base of the motif, I chose a co-ordinating self striping yarn and the joining colors will be using the same colors as the center of the motif’s.

  • Color A – Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight in White 728 yds
  • Color B – Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight in Pumpkin 364 yds
  • Color C – Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight in Bright Yellow 364 yds
  • Color D – Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight in Shocking Pink 364 yds
  • Color E – Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight in Fruity Stripes 1290 yds

I chose self striping yarn so will have less ends to weave in, but you can change colors every row if you want to do a scrapbuster or specific color scheme. Makers Choice!
