Materials

Extra Bulky Yarn ~ 99 Yards (Lion Brand Woolease Thick & Quick in Flamingo pictured above)

Hook ~ N

Stitches
  • Ch ~ Chain
  • Sl St ~ Slip Stitch
  • HDC ~ Half Double Crochet
  • DC ~ Double Crochet
  • Rev Sc ~ Reverse Single Crochet
  • Dec Hdc ~ Decrease Half Double Crochet : (yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop) 2 times, yarn over, pull through all 5 loops on hook.
Instructions

*You will be working in the round for this project

Ch 3

1: HDC in 3rd Ch from hook,  7 Hdc in the same Ch space. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 8 Hdc

2: Ch 2(Counts as beginning Hdc now and throughout), Hdc in same stitch,  2 Hdc in each St around. Join to beginning with Sl St. = 16 Hdc

3: Ch 2, Hdc in same St, Hdc in next St, *2 Hdc in next St, Hdc in next St*, Repeat * * Around. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 24 Hdc

4: Ch 2, Hdc in Same St, Hdc in next 2 Sts, *2 Hdc in next St, Hdc in next 2 Sts*, Repeat * * around, Join with Sl St to beginning. = 32 Hdc

5: Ch 2, Hdc in Same St, Hdc in next 3 Sts, *2 Hdc in next St, Hdc in next 3 Sts*, Repeat * * around, Join with Sl St to beginning. = 40 Hdc

6: Ch 2, Hdc in each St around. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 40 Hdc

7: Ch 2, Hdc in Same St, Hdc in next 4 Sts, *2 Hdc in next St, Hdc in next 4 Sts*, Repeat * * around, Join with Sl St to beginning. = 48 Hdc

8: Ch 2, Hdc in each St around. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 48 Hdc

9: Repeat Row 8

10: Ch 2, *Hdc in next 20 Sts, Dec Hdc,* Repeat * * one time, Hdc in last 3 Sts. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 46 Hdc

11: *Working in Back Loops for this row only* Ch 1, Hdc in each St around. = 46 Hdc in back loops

12: Ch 3(Counts as beginning Dc), Dc in Previous St (working in the stitch to the right, this will now form an X St),* Skip next unworked St, Dc in next St, Dc in Previous Skipped St(forms X)*. Repeat * * Around. Join to begging Dc. 23 X Sts

13: Ch 1, Rev Sc in each St Around. Join to beginning with Sl St. = 46 Rev Sc

Finish off and weave in the ends.

Amazing Grace Crochet Charity Drive… Week 8 Featured Pattern!!

The Amazing Grace Charity Drive is getting close to the finale!!!  If you want to participate and pay it forward to those in need, all items must be received at Beatrice Ryan Designs by Friday October 31st to be eligible for the Prize Package drawing…  I have received tons of boxes and packages already full of wonderful crochet items… I am so excited to see the Grand Total of our donation to Crochet For Cancer!!!  We are really making a difference!!  Each hat, blanket, shawl and hand-made item is a treasure that will bless someone who is suffering or recovering from cancer.

I am working on 2 more Amazing Grace Free Pattern Designs and can’t wait to share them with you over the next couple weeks… They are brand new designs… One small project and one larger project!!  So make sure you stay tuned for more Free Patterns!!!

Measurements:

8″ x 51″

Materials: 

Hook ~ H

Yarn ~Worsted Weight ~  Caron Simply Soft Party Yarn *Color A ~ 200 Yards Black Sparkle and *Color B ~100 Yards Fuchsia Sparkle

Scissors and Yarn Needle

Stitches:

Ch ~ Chain     Sp ~ Space     Sk ~ Skip     St ~ Stitch     Sl St ~ Slip Stitch     Sc ~ Single Crochet     Dc ~ Double Crochet

Tips:

You will be alternating rows with Color A and Color B.

You will be working in the round

Instructions:

Color A 

Chain 180

Row 1:  Join to beginning of the chain to form a ring, Being very careful not to twist  the chain. Ch 1, Sc around, Join with Sl St to beginning. = 180 Sc

Color B

Row 2:  Join with Sl St to any Sc. Ch 1, Sc in the same st, * Ch 2, Sk 2 Sts, Sc in the next St*. Repeat * * Around. = 60 Sc and 60 Ch 2 spaces

Color A

Row 3:  Join with Sl St in any Ch 2 Space.  Ch 3(Counts as a Dc now and throughout) and 2 Dcs in same Ch 2 Space, Ch 1,* Sk next Sc, 3 Dc in next Ch 2 Sp, Ch 1*. Repeat * * Around. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 60 (3 Dc Shells) and 60 Ch 1 Sps.

Color B

Row 4:  Join with Sl St to any Ch 1 Sp. Ch 1, Sc in same St as joining, *Ch 2, Sk next 3 Sts, Sc in next Ch 1 Sp*. Repeat * * Around. Join with Sl St to beginning. = 60 Ch 2 Sps and 60 Sc

Continuing to alternate your colors~

Rows 5 ~ 19: Repeat Rows 3 & 4 Seven more times. Then repeat Row 3 once more.

Finish off and weave in your ends
