Eye of the Storm Afghan CAL Week 4! Wow, already 10 squares – Really coming together! My chosen colors are a chaos scheme using 12 colors, and randomly drawing 6 colors for each square!

Fall feels like it is in the air here at the very top of California in a small mountain town! But the fun and whimsical colors are keeping things so bright and cheery!

By now, I have the pattern down and each week my 2 squares come together really quickly! Each week I draw my colors and sometimes think… “I’m not sure if these colors will work”… But, I go with it and each week I am amazed that I love the squares!!!

I hope if you aren’t making this crochet along, you are following along… You will find the schedule and details below if you want to get started… So easy to keep up each week… Just 1 or 2 squares a week depending on the size afghan you want!

If you are seeing The Eye of the Storm CALfor the first time… This is a Crochet Along that goes for a total of 15 weeks… You can choose how many squares you want to make and the size of your project… You will make 1 or 2 squares per week depending on what you choose. I am making the large afghan with 24 squares… 4 across x 6 down. Each square is 12″ x 12″, so my approximate size will be 56″ x 80″ with the joining and border.

This last week was pretty low key for me… What about you??? I crocheted a lot and published 2 new patterns… In case you missed them… the links are below! I worked in my garden, did some meal preps, went to our hardware store(81 years family owned) and visited my brother… Did the regular housekeeping and of course Ziggy(my savannah cat) kept me busy! Had a few great phone visits with my kids, Frank and my step mom too! All in all a good week!

Here is a brief bit of info about this Crochet Along ~

Each block is approximately 12″ x 12″. Then there is joining allowance and the border. The border will be approximately 6 total inches and joining is just a couple of extra inches.

• 3 x 4 (12 blocks) Afghan 44″ x 56″ Make 1 Block Per Week
• 3 x 5 (15 blocks) Afghan 44″ x 68″ Make 2 Blocks This Week
• 4 x 5 (20 blocks) Afghan 56″ x 68″ Make 2 Blocks This Week
• 4 x 6 (24 blocks) Afghan 56″ x 80″ Make 2 Blocks This Week

I have chosen to make mine in the whimsical chaos style! What is that? I purchased yarn kits with 12 colors of Red Heart Super Saver that all go together on Amazon. I made a small card for each color(see my pics) and for each square I am randomly drawing 6 cards. I make the square in the order of how I pulled the card for A, B, C, D, E and F colors.
